Yes! I don't have a car and have to walk more or less everywhere so going out in a high wind isn't much fun. I am rather tall and skinny and don't much fancy becoming a human kite.
My other annoyance is my kitchen window arrangement which is highly impratical. I might have to do a notorious Mumsnet diagram to explain it properly but basically I have a window over the sink with a whole three foot by three foot solid pane that opens inwards on hinges on the right (vertical) side.
It will only open to about 160° (not flush with the wall) and likes to swing back in the slightest breeze to hit you on the back of the head when you're washing up.
Then - to the right of the sink unit there is the washing machine and dishwasher. Go round the corner and I have a pair of patio doors which do not slide but open inwards as well.
Are you with me so far?
So the nearest patio door, when open, butts up against the kitchen window, when open, so I can't get to the washing machine or dishwasher. Those doors flap about as well.
I have been known to tie the sink window handle to the near patio door handle just to keep them in place and access the washing machine and dishwasher just when I need by untieing them.
But why are your windows open so much? I hear you say.
Because I live in a small flat in a hot country with no air con.
