DS has had diarrhea since Wednesday, he woke up in the early hours and went maybe half a dozen times. He slept most of Wednesday and seemed to improve on Thursday. Yesterday he said his stomach felt "tight" , and he felt more unwell. Then early hours of this morning he repeatedly needed the toilet and in between was doubled over with stomach cramps. He said he was passing blood, so I called 111 and they advised to go to A and E.
There, they did some blood tests and felt his stomach but said it was probably a viral bug, and gave us a container for a sample to give to the GP. He's probably been to the toilet up to 20 times today and his stomach is really painful. I should have asked at the hospital (but didn't!) how long it is likely to last, and if its contagious. (Im assuming so) It's already longer than a standard bug! Any advice on making life marginally more comfortable, he doesn't want a hot water bottle, and is trying to rest/sleep between toilet visits. I've given paracetamol and going to get buscapan.
