My friend is disabled and doesn't have a computer or even a smartphone so i helped her with filling out her migration to uc. she has been on it since jan.

she just called me saying she is struggling to budget for the month, she was used to being paid every two weeks on esa and she budgeted all her bills/gas and electricity and food shopping etc from two weeks to the next but since being paid monthly she is struggling to make the money last. as an example she isn't paid again until next thursday and is running out of electricity as she thought £100 would be enough to last a month (its pay as you go) she has also forgot two bills that are due on the 3rd and 4th.

I have set up a direct debit for her rent payment to go out on the day she gets paid each month but not sure how to help her budget the rest..

if i contacted uc with her with me would they change it to two weekly payments instead of monthly?

You can actually have it weekly or fortnightly. Just leave a message in her journal.
I get mine weekly.

Yes she can request twice monthly payments but they will also then pay her housing element direct to her landlord as well.
