Contact lenses

Sorry wasn’t sure where to post this.

I’m getting fed up of doing my makeup nicely, then putting on my glasses and ruined the effect. I’ve seen too many photos where I just look old and geeky because of my glasses.

I would like to try contact lenses. But I can’t stand the thought of going to the opticians and having them put them in for me. I think I could do it myself, but not have someone else do it for me. I don’t like anyone going near my eyes.

Is it possible to buy contacts online if I know my prescription? Would you recommend it?

I've been wearing daily disposables for about 22 years, although now, I don't need glasses for close work, so I'm back to glasses most of the time because i only need them for part of the day. I wear contacts at weekend or if I'm doing sport.
Both teen DC wear them , my only complaint is that it's way more expensive than glasses - particularly now that I'm buying 3 sets of contact lenses. None of us wear them ft though.

I've been wearing them for forty five years. They literally changed my life at 16. Gas permeable ones which are relatively rare these days but suit my complicated prescription. They are even varifocal now my arms are getting too short in old age to hold a book at the right distance!

Amazing things. But you definitely need an optician to advise on the best type and show you how to put them in and take them out.
