I’ve just done mine for delivery tomorrow, they have Tesco finest half side salmon on offer 500g for £6 - I love salmon and my DIL and son are coming for dinner so couldn’t resist this.

gala apples are on offer as well so got some of those.

but I love love love the Jaffa large easy peelers expensive but soooo good

Lemons and limes on offer this week too

Darkclothes · 26/02/2025 23:26

Is this question for psychics or am I missing something? 🤔

Not Tesco specifically, but things I buy often:
-Fresh milk and a long life spare for when I run out
-Tinned tomatoes
-Pasta/rice
-Onions, potatoes, sweet potato, broccoli, cauli, carrots and maybe beans
-Frozen peas and corn
-Coriander, mint or dill- depending what I'm thinking of making that week

Cosyvibes · 26/02/2025 23:27

Good to know about the offers thank you @Floranan
@evtheria pancake ingredients, thank you dd makes them often.
@Istilldontlikeolives I love feta and Mediterranean veg. You have jogged my memory about a tray of beetroot, carrots and red onion I seen in the Tesco magazine. Will see if I can find that.

For a quick dinner this week will get chicken, red grapes, salad and French baguette. Will season the chicken with rosemary.

Ahh I see. Do you eat meat?

-Whole chicken for a roast meal
-Chicken leftovers can make a chicken/sweet corn soup (garlic, ginger, soy sauce, cornflour, egg, sweet corn)
-or chicken caesar (Romaine lettuce, caesar dressing, croutons, boiled eggs, parmesan, optional anchovies and crispy bacon)

Burgers? (Salady bits, cheese, buns, sauce/mayonnaise, burgers)
Fish burgers as an alternative

Yoghurt
Nuts
Fruit

TakeMyLifeAndLetItBe · 26/02/2025 23:47

Löfberg's ground coffee is on offer this week and it's really nice. I bought the Brazilian one to try and would buy it again.

Cosyvibes · 26/02/2025 23:57

@Darkclothes yeah we eat meat although trying to reduce due to health and costs. Love your list thanks a million. Dh loves chicken and sweetcorn soup I've not made that for a while. Fish burgers we have never made but sound lovely.

@TakeMyLifeAndLetItBe not tried that coffee before, I usually buy Costa coffee for the Cafetiere and Lor for instant. Do they have a decaffeinated option?

But mix with truffle and pecorino cheese.

ODFOx · 27/02/2025 00:11

NUT mix with truffle and pecorino cheese!

Enough4me · 27/02/2025 00:17

Buy chicken breasts/thighs, whatever herbs you like (flat leaf parsley, mint whatever), pot of natural yoghurt.
Cut chicken into chunky strips lengthwise. Marinate overnight. Grill on foil alongside pepper to eat with rice (pick a microwave flavour you haven't had before, lemon makes a nice change). Olives, pitta slices & houmous on the side.

Cosyvibes · 27/02/2025 00:48

@ODFOx oh that sounds yummy.

@Enough4me thanks that's a fab quick dinner.

Thinking of how to reduce waste regarding fruit. We buy a lot of fruit and to be fair it does get mostly eaten. However some of it does end up in the compost bin. Has anyone tried frozen fruit? Would this be worth a try?

WellsAndThistles · 27/02/2025 00:51

Dead Man's fingers rum and Ginger Ale are both on offer this week 😃

Windowsillgarden · 27/02/2025 00:53

I only use frozen fruit in cakes, crumbles and smoothies. Depends on what you would use the frozen fruit for!

mondaytosunday · 27/02/2025 00:59

Sweet potatoes, onions and diced chorizo. Plus salad. Yummy dinner.
Butternut squash, onions, stock, double cream and chorizo for a delicious soup.
An Easter egg or two to stock up.

Enough4me · 27/02/2025 09:18

Frozen fruit works well in overnight oats. I use fruit, seeds, nuts, oats, then milk to cover, honey to sweeten, plain yoghurt to top.

Cosyvibes · 27/02/2025 17:50

@Enough4me I've never made over night oats will give them a try. They do sound lovely.

@colourblindrainbow sorry tagged you by accident.

@mondaytosunday Easter eggs definitely wouldn't last until Easter in this house 🤣

Frozen fruit for smoothies and crumbles could try. Not had rum for years.

Still not started shoving stuff in the basket will do it later. Thanks all you have all made a mundane task much easier Flowers
