He said if you’re on a simpler energy plan with OVO have a look at fixing before it all goes up in April.
So I looked at OVO fixed 1 year loyalty eco 7 and although they estimate bout £20 less a month the unit prices were a lot higher than I’m paying now. The thing they changed was the daily standing charge from 61p down to 40p. I’m so bloody confused is that supposed to good Martin? sounds shit to me. How do I work out if the 21p drop is worth the unit price hike.🤦‍♀️

How do the unit prices compare to those that will be coming in from 1st April?

if your on the price cap then at the moment it seems for most people the right fix will be a better option.

Your energy bills will show annual usage - do the calculation for current supplier and the one you're considering

Energy units x cost of unit = annual energy cost
Daily standing charge x 365 = annual standing charge

Add the two together and see which is lower

Thank you, works out about £40 higher on the fixed rate. I suppose cos we are high users. The new price cap may bring us up to that anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️.
