I've had terrible toothache this week and, as my dentist tells me every time I visit, I have a lot of bone loss in my top left jaw. I am already missing my 2nd bicuspid up there but believe I will definitely need to have my wisdom tooth out and the second molar next to it. Both teeth are heavily filled and the second molar is the one that always gives me pain. What I'm worried about is how I will look if I have 3/4 teeth missing there. Will the bone keep on shrinking? Or is it OK with a few dentures in? I know dentures don't prevent bone loss. Can I have a bone graft there and an implant even with a good degree of bone loss? I'll be interested to hear from anyone that's had dentures / a bone graft and implants or just left the gap there. Thanks!
