What snack do you give your DC for school?

DC are 7&5 and each get an apple or banana and a mini pack of biscuits ie party rings or animals. DD told me yesterday that no one else gets fruit apart from one other girl and the other kids get crisps and mini eggs etc instead. I don't know the parents well enough to ask so I just wondered what you give your DC for a school snack? This is separate from the school lunch that they get.

Fruit, carrot, cucumber, and a brunch bar or sometimes a kit kat or a penguin. Always a bit of fruit or veg and a small sugar hit. She also takes lunch, so she will sometimes take crisps or bread sticks/crackers. Its always as well as, unless the fridge is looking desperate!

Many parents make the easy decision vs the right one. DD is the only child who brings fruit and cheese to her 'fruit snack' time - the rest bring cake and lunchables and other shit. I just keep reminding her that I'm her mum, so I get to decide. End of discussion.

Just an apple or a banana.

Do you mean for break time? My primary aged DD is only allowed to take in fruit for breaktime or pay termly for toast from school.

Only allowed fresh fruit or raisins at our school, usually apple, grapes or clementine.

An orange, a little tub of popcorn or some dried mango. Ours aren't allowed to bring in crisps or cake or anything (primary age)

I work in secondary now and the shite they eat is a bit of a shock in comparison

Mostly fruit or carrot/cucumber sticks. Occasionally (maybe once a week) they might get either rice cakes, tube yogurt, fruit winder or a box of rasins. Neither crisps or biscuits would be allowed at DC's school.

Mine aren't keen on fruit at school as it goes a bit mushy and warm or bruised in school bag, especially in warm weather. They eat a lot of it at home so I'm not concerned. Some schools only allow fruit and veg which I think is a mistake.

My DS plays outside school for 45 mins at the MUGA next to the school most mornings so is hungry by break time, plus he's growing a lot, so I give him a bag of low sugar pop corn or some rice cakes, or a nut free cereal bar. Sometimes a mini bag of breadsticks. Also a small box of raisins some days.

NB. I give one of these things!! Not all of them at once as it's only an hour or so before their school lunch!

We're only allowed to send in fruit, veg, breadsticks or rice cakes
