I work as a midday and intervention support in my child's school have done for 2 years (but who I feel don't support my child who has sen needs in the way they need to be- long back story)
Anyway I've been asked to help voluntary at swimming lessons in the class my child is in untill July , would you do it ? I have the morning free so that's not the issue but I just at the moment have this mindset of if school are not going to support my child why should I support the school ?

My other half keeps telling me i need to separate the professional and parental level apart in my head

Are they asking you so you can support your own dc in the swimming lessons?

What? These aren't even vaguely related?! Surely if you help with swimming they've then got more adults for helping children in other ways....

If you are not happy about the support your child receives then do something about that. Not helping at the swimming won't fix that though will it?
