World book day - year 5/6 girls?

My DD really wants to join in, but is stuck for ideas. She would like to do a joint costume with her friends, but they are all a bit too 'cool' to look like they've put lots of effort in.
Last year they did the Midnight Gang purely so they could go to school in pyjamas.
What are your older primary girls wearing?

Could they go as the female characters in Harry Potter?

What books or comics do they actually like to read (or used to love when younger)?
Surely that's the starting point.

The dictionary: transfer paper used to put words all over a white tee shirt.

Lottie Brooks. Stick man (girl?) shape gaffer taped over a white tee and leggings!

She's not so into Harry Potter. Most of the books she reads now are real life type books, without illustrations and don't have film franchises, so don't have recognisable characters. So she could imagine what they look like, but doesn't want to spend the day explaining who she is. I like the idea of a dictionary though. I ask her to think outside the box a bit!

@Thingsthatgo if she thinks people won't know who she is then she should take a copy of the book with her and tell people.
Surely one of the points of World Book Day is to share books you love.
What are the last few books she has read?

My DD is going as Montgomery BonBon. So all she needs is a trench coat, beret and a fake moustache. She'll wear normal clothes underneath.
