Arghh! What have Apple done to emails on iPhone?!!

It's so annoying, I've missed several emails as they aren't coming into the main thread. Any way to go back to the old layout?

I have always found Apple emails annoying. I miss several emails per day due to their inexplicable design. It’s not just the new layout. I have had the same for several years. You can keep you inbox the same as usual. It won’t make any difference though. If I’m waiting for an important email I search for the recipient a few times per day, and it’ll be there in the results. I suggest you do the same.

After an update I had the same issue. Emails were awful. There were three dots in the top right corner. I clicked on them and selected list view. This sorted the issue for me.

As a PP said I had to select list view but also it didn't update everything on my "all inboxes" bit. I have multiple emails set up to my phone. I had to go into each one individually in the inbox and set every individual one to list view before I got my main inbox back to how it was.

And I still hate the stupid initial thing to the left so I can't see as much as I used to of the first few words of the email.

I mentioned it to my husband as I had missed emails and he said to press the 3 dots in the right hand corner.

it has been pissing me off as well!! and similar to you some business e-transfers had been unbeknownst to me redirected to the "transactions" shopping cart...
although i didn't have the "all mail option", the three dots allowed me to switch from "categories" to "list view".

To get rid of this go into
settings > apps > mail > show contact photos and then turn it off.
The icons then disappear and your inbox goes back to normal

Thank you @AmyVM - that's me back to normal now.

I wish instead of automatically changing things when there's an update you get something that tells you about the new features so you can add it or not instead of always having it added on then needing to find how to change it back.
