Holiday to Bulgaria?

We'd go in June, in a rural bit nearish Sofia, lovely villa with pool.

One teen, one 8 year old, both easy to please. As long as we've got good food, nice walks and interesting things to see, we're sorted.

We're used to self-catering in France/Italy/Spain etc and fancied something different. Any views?

I am going to Sofia in July. We booked on a bit of a whim. I don't know anyone that has been so am interested to hear what others think too.
