It's a pretty and easy watch. I'm very fond of it.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/02/2025 21:29

Definitely worth watching but the update they did was a disaster, mediocre and painful.

The original is brilliant, but subsequent rewatching really changed my mind about a lot of things.

No.
Mawkish rubbish.

Yep, love it. Team Logan.

Teenyweenytinytrees · 21/02/2025 21:36

It's my comfort show...I started from the beginning and rewatched with each newborn I had.

YourFlawIsLava · 21/02/2025 21:47

I think it's worth it. First time I watched it, I loved it and I loved virgin river and ginny and Georgia.

It's quite nostalgic as it's very of its time which is nice too.

It took me a while to get into it and part of the reason I loved it is because it's pretty much my gran, my mum and me but I didn't go to private school. I tried to watch it recently with my daughter and it wasn't as easy to get into as I found the mum too annoying (also true to life) but I think it took me a full series to love it the first time.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/02/2025 22:05

DD(13) loves it.

CulturalNomad · 21/02/2025 22:52

I come from a small town in Connecticut that has a "Stars Hollow" vibe so I'm probably predisposed to liking the show! It's a comfort watch for me; easy and perfect as a distraction when my mind is working overtime.😂

Just remember that it's 20+ years old now and will seem dated.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 21/02/2025 23:14

I really like this show but I think some characters seemed more annoying when I rewatched it. Emily is by far the best one and I actually felt quite sorry for her.

kezzykate · 21/02/2025 23:47

I love all the shows you have listed but Gilmore Girls is my favourite out of all of them. Go for it - you'll love it!

CulturalNomad · 22/02/2025 14:30

Based on the shows you listed you might like My Life With the Walter Boys on Netflix as well.

FatLarrysBanned · 22/02/2025 14:51

Me and teen DD watch it every Autumn and the 4 part special, it's called Year in the Life.

Kirk is the Miss Rabbit of Stars Hollow.

Luke giving out ridiculous wifi passwords is one of our in jokes at home whenever anyone asks for a password.

DD has dyspraxia and identifies with Sookie a lot 😂🤕

Rory is far too angsty and prissy, but it's a good watch.

Mumneedstea · 22/02/2025 14:59

Yes yes yes!!!
It's my comfort watch and I'm doing a rerun now for the 5th or 6th time. Watch season 1 and then decide how your feel. I always thought Lorelai was quite selfish, but now I'm starting to think the same about Rory. Still love the show!

Marilla1966 · 22/02/2025 15:05

Just the best. So jealous that you get to experience it for the first time. Enjoy x

Peekingovertheparapet · 22/02/2025 15:10

I’ve watched it a few times - I like it, it’s got great pop culture refs. The creators also created Marvellous Mrs Maisel, which has a similar feel in some ways (fast talking, outlandish, funny). I first watched it as a student a long time ago and was very much team Lorelai, but as I’ve become older I find myself identifying more and more with Emily. It’s a story about women and their relationships with one another first and foremost, and an interesting one at that.

like other posters I’m massively Team Logan.
