What to buy for sons first festival

DS is going to his first festival this summer and has a birthday coming up. I would like to get him something that will come in useful at the festival but that doesn't scream embarrassing interfering mother.

They have their tent sorted and we have sleeping bags etc already. Any ideas? They are camping for 4 days.

Him and his gf are talking about an airbed but given everything else they are thinking of taking I think they are overestimating the size of his car.

Nope not until the summer but presumably might still be wet.

A head torch?

He has one of those for work but this is a good tip to put it on his packing list.

Thermarest. Don’t get airbeds, get a self inflating thermarest.

power bank.

bumbag/handbag from east pack

POTC · 21/02/2025 19:57

A good powerbank, high level of battery so it will do multiple phone charges

ILoveYouJefferyS · 21/02/2025 19:57

I got my Grandson a mini fridge that holds 6 cans and can plug into the car.

TigerRag · 21/02/2025 20:00

Ear plugs

To be fair airbeds pack very small, however they’re not at all warm, and in even summer its cold at night. Something like a yoga matt on top of an airbed makes it warmer and prevents condensation forming on the underside of the airbag. Not a cool gift, but it means warmer and dry sleep.
