Baby stopped teaching arms up

Baby is 13 weeks and feel awful haven’t noticed that he’s stopped lifting his arms up the last week. He’s no longer batting and teaching for his play gym and mobile, had assumed he was just getting bored. Will still bring hands to mouth and hold things if our in hands and moves arms out to the side but won’t reach for toys. Do I contact the health visitor today or wait 3 weeks? He was previously not moving his head to one side and she mentioned physio but that resolved

If physio was mentioned before get a referral might take few weeks anyway and you can cancel if by time of appt no concerns
No harm to get assessed
Presumably there is some reason on background eg traumatic birth or ??

I would contact health visitor or GP.

Might be nothing
better to be a concerned mum than miss something

Thanks I have contacted HV, no idea if she’ll read the message before Monday. Have found some local private physios to try whilst I hear back. No traumatic birth injury noted, no forceps etc. Head movement stopped around 8weeks but gradually improved with encouragement and HV was happy last time.

Ask for an appointment with your GP noting loss of a skill. They should refer you to a paediatrician.

I messaged the health visitor but didn’t hear anything back as it was Friday afternoon so I’ll contact the GP on Monday

How did you get on speaking to the GP?

HV was going to refer to physio but has held off until next review as he’s improved.
