Lying liars. Why do women believe, trust or defend them?

The past few days I have watched Donald Trump tell deliberate lies. Lies that he knows are lies. Lies that he knows, we know, are lies. Why?Confused

Moreover, why are intelligent women repeating and supporting his lies? My mother taught me not make myself look foolish defending a man. It was a good lesson.

As a wise man once said: "Man is the measure of all things".

In other words, what people believe to be true actually becomes true. Perception is reality.

That's what Trump is all about. Repeat his lies long enough and they become true.

Trump is a narcissist, potentially a psychopath. He gets his thrill thinking and knowing he has pulled the wool over peoples eyes. It is his goal to do so and he delights in it. Why anyone believes him baffles me but here we are.

Bollindger · 20/02/2025 21:31

2/3rd of USA voted for Trump.

So let us ask, how can the other side be so bad, he wins.

Maybe people actually like some of his ideas.

4 / 5 Trillion unaccounted for.

200 year old persons still able to claim social security...

21 Million to get India to vote....

username299 · 20/02/2025 21:48

From what I understand, black women did not vote for Trump.

SpuytenDuyvil · 20/02/2025 21:51

2/3 of the USA did NOT vote for him. Not even close.

Blueeyedmale · 20/02/2025 21:53

Don't want to be insulting to women but MAGA women don't appear to be that intelligent and the men not much of a brain cell between them.

He only has to open his mouth and the sheep follow sad because it's a country a lot of people used to look up to.

There are still many great Americans but sadly trump is taking it down the wrong path and it may never recover

It doesn't matter how many times Trump says America spent 100 million dollars on condoms for Hamas. It doesn't make it true.

Same when Musk said America spent 50 million dollars on condoms for Hamas. TBF to him, he said he was wrong when challenged. However last night Trump literally doubled down this lie!

Why? When it's has been disproved and didn't need to be included in his speech?

Is it contempt for those who believe and believe in him? Is it a test?

So you think they really believe him?

The sad thing is I really think they do maybe not all but definitely a large majority

TooBigForMyBoots · 21/02/2025 00:02

I'm watching QT, the Republican woman seems to be tying herself up in knots trying to defend or excuse, while simultaneously cast aspersions on Trump's lie that Ukraine, Europe and NATO started Russia's war.

She is uncomfortable and uncomfortable to watch. I dare say many other Republicans and Trump supporters are feeling the same.

Because I think like Brexit , many don't like to admit they get easily taken in by what look like simple solutions but are actually complex issues.

Crikeyalmighty · 21/02/2025 14:56

I've been to the US quite a lot of times too and it's very domestically focused- a bit like the UK too in that an agenda that becomes very 'woke' turns an awful lot off- there's still in the USA to me (outside of a few more liberal areas) a fair bit of good old mysoginistic attitudes and women are expected to defer to the man - even if he's an arrogant total knobhead-
