Definitely get someone in to do a quote. We have a S/N facing roof but an odd apex in the middle meaning it doesn’t look like it would suit solar panels. But once the guy did the calculations he realised we could get some on the roof plus we could use the garage roof too which is east-facing - so we have 7 on the roof & 7 on the garage. They were installed in April & we basically didnt pay for any electricity from then until September. We also got two batteries & sell excess back to the grid.

Our next door neighbours in Dublin installed just two solar panels years ago before they became fashionable. They said they have hot water all year round and enough of it that about 10 people could have showers in the morning!
