Can I use old barcoded stamps from 2023?

I’m sure the rule used to be if your stamp said 1st or 2nd (rather than, say, 75p) then you could use it with no ‘expiry’ as such.

These stamps say ‘1st’ and are from 2023 so are barcoded. Therefore I imagine they can ‘tell’ they were bought at a cheaper price than 1st class cost today.

Can I still use them?

Yes, they are still valid. Martin Lewis always tells people to stock up prior to price increases.

The only ones you can't use are non-pictorial, non-barcoded stamps.

Excellent, thank you!

My husband received a birthday card last week which had a barcoded stamp on, so post with one attached is definitely being delivered :-)
