Someone asked me the other day what colour eyes my daughter had and I didn't actually know how to answer. They sometimes look brown but other times look like they have a green tint.

What colour eyes are these?

I’d say a very green hazel.

Tanfastic · 20/02/2025 12:49

They look like mine and I describe mine as green

Agree with this.

mondaytosunday · 20/02/2025 13:58

Look grey to me. I have hazel and they don't look like that.

TheLargestToblerone · 20/02/2025 14:11

Grey.

JellyComb · 20/02/2025 14:19

Greenish Grey.

Hazel has 2 or 3 distinct colours. For example, mine have a dark brown line around the edge, then a very green iris with an orangey brown "explosion" around the pupil

Mylittlebobble · 20/02/2025 14:20

Green

JellyComb · 20/02/2025 14:24

That's my hazel eye. Bad photo though sorry!

Like mine - grey.
A green grey like beautiful slate.

May09Bump · 20/02/2025 14:40

Green hazel. I've got grey/ blue and not seeing the grey in her eyes.

gumpit · 20/02/2025 14:49

Green/grey. Definitley a cool shade not warm like Hazel.

Same here. I'd describe the ops pic as grey.

Hazel covers most green-brown shades

bubbletubble · 20/02/2025 15:52

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't figure it out! Some lights they look brown, other times hazel and then other times a greeny grey!

Cerialkiller · 20/02/2025 15:54

Generally if you can't decide between brown and green and they look different depending on the light then I would say hazel.

KookyPeachViewer · 20/02/2025 15:55

They look obviously green to me. They are too warm to be grey and too green to be hazel. Hazel needs more browns and yellows.

RosesAndHellebores · 20/02/2025 15:56

Hazel and they'll go light brown.
DS's were green and they turned Hazel.

That's what they are - not one colour but a variety of colours blended together. This is true of most eye colours. Mine are blue, grey or green according to the ligthing and what I'm wearing, and even have a hint of hazel sometimes.

glasgowstations · 20/02/2025 16:13

They look like mine and I always say green when asked.

Futb · 20/02/2025 16:17

They’re green/brown/hazel to me. I can’t fathom how anyone can see grey in these eyes.

Mind you, I’m talking about the second pic. I assume people are talking about the first pic where I can see the grey

Yellowrosessmellpetaly · 20/02/2025 16:40

Greyey-green

LadyLucyWells · 20/02/2025 16:42

I would call that colour Hazel, my eldest sons eyes are that colour. It's lovely.

Jasmin71 · 20/02/2025 16:43

Soft green/grey.

Mine are similar and definitely hazel.

OP's child's eyes look greyish green

The 2nd pic is a completely different person.
