Ideas for an 18th birthday present for a girl?

I literally have no idea. She doesn't really wear jewellery, no specific hobbies. Doesn't go out much, she's a real homebody. Everyone keeps asking her what she wants and she just said she doesn't know. I suppose the fallback is money but I want to get her something special for her 18th! Any ideas welcomed 😊

TIA

Hey Tia, I have a DD who recently turned 18 and she doesn’t wear much jewellery but I did get her a personalised engraved pendent with her name and birthdate on to go on a necklace she really loved as even if she doesn’t wear in now she may in the future and it’s a lovely keepsake.
I hope this helps.

Ditto with above poster. Came to say my most treasured 18th birthday present was an engraved locket. It was made with a little bit of Welsh gold in it (a gift from my Welsh family as I was about to move to England for uni). I didn’t wear it a huge amount at the time but treasured it and it now has photos of my daughter in. Still only worn on rare occasions but very precious! Maybe a birthstone one or a particular animal/design would have similar meaning for your daughter?

I might try a very special bouquet of a bunch of fresh flowers.

We bought ours a handbag she wanted.

If she really doesn't know what she wants then money is best but maybe as Premium Bonds (so it doesn't just get spent on everyday stuff).
Does she read?
You could get a copy of a best selling book from the year she was born or a copy of your favourite book when you were 18.

Ours is learning to drive so we gave her lovely jewellery and a car.

PickledElectricity · 19/02/2025 20:36

She's a homebody, so what does she do at home? Surely you must know SOMETHING about her personality 😅

What kind of clothes does she wear? Could you get her stuff from a brand she likes with a gift receipt in the pocket?

IJustWantToKnow · 19/02/2025 20:39

Is this your DD? I think that makes a difference.

2chocolateoranges · 19/02/2025 20:44

Dd chose a bag for her 18th
for her 21st she chose a coach bag and a good watch.

wonderstuff · 19/02/2025 20:45

Watching, you could be describing my dd and when I ask she doesn’t know and I’m really not sure.

CatteryCatss · 19/02/2025 21:02

Why not take her out for some lunch at her favourite restaurant instead of a physical gift, since you’re struggling for ideas?

Idonthavemytoolsmycloak · 19/02/2025 21:21

Yes it is my dd.

All good suggestions - she already has a car - I really want a keepsake.....maybe a locket is the way to go....or a special handbag.

Thanks everyone x
