I'm nosy. What do you take with you wherever you go?

I stumbled across a Reddit thread on the topic which I read with interest but it was old and mostly American.

Mine:

Phone
Card holder with bank card and driving license
Portable charger
Keys
Sunglasses
Cotton tote bag
Hand sanitiser
Tissues
Perfume
Lipstick
Headphones
Mirror
Mints
Notebook
Pen

Pen
Lippy (there were 5 in there last weekend, when I emptied work stuff, mind you!)
Earphones (wired/wireless - depends on where I'm going)

Sometimes eyeliner or small make up bag
Tote bag (usually an indie band logo and signed by the band)

Sometimes hair brush & bobble for one of the girls. Sometimes add a tampon or pad...I have post-chemo mad professor hair & no periods but saves them taking a bag 🤷‍♀️

I don’t have a handbag, but the things I carry everyday are just the house keys, car keys, phone and I have a phone case to keep some cards in.

littleducks · 18/02/2025 20:04

I used to like bags, I have some nice ones but 90% of the time I just carry phone and keys. For days out I take a rucksack and add water bottle, headphones, lip balm and maybe my kindle. If hiking might add food and plasters.

Just keys, phone, lip balm, sometimes a hairbrush if out all day.

festivemouse · 18/02/2025 18:16

I take so many things in my bag, I even organise them into smaller bags within my main bag 😂

Small pouch with tampon, pad, plasters, blister plasters, thread + needle, tissues, hair bobble, hair pins, mints, disposable toothbrushes and anything "essential"

Mini pill organiser with paracetamol, ibuprofen, Imodium, rennies and a few other tablets in.

Cute fabric pouch with a mirror, hairbrush, lipstick, fancy lip-balm, powder, blotting sheets, perfume etc in.

General bits, sunglasses, purse, keys, notebook and pen, phone.

I'm known by my friends for being mega prepared ha!

As someone who can't bear the idea of carrying things around that I probably won't need at least semi-regularly, I find this fascinating/impressive.

As PP have said though, I bet your friends love you.

Never managed to get on with bags. Now I can just take phone and my keys I just don’t see the need. I do have a magnetic card wallet that attaches on to the back of my phone - it comes with me sometime but now always.

I can only dream of being this low maintenance.

I make a point of never having my driving licence in the same bag as my keys. If you lose your bag your licence has your address on.... too much risk!

This is a good point... it doubles as my ID though (when I'm very, very occasionally asked).

I was thinking the other day I don’t ever use a handbag anymore, I just put my phone and keys in my pocket, and I wondered if others were the same and if handbag sales have gone down. I only take a bag if I’m with the children and then it has drinks bottles, spare clothes, wet wipes and snacks in it!

No!! I feel lost and naked without my bag 😱

evtheria · 19/02/2025 15:41

I'll only bring a crossbody out maybe 4 times out of 10. Otherwise I just do phone, keys, and perhaps a wallet, all in my coat pockets.

Bag usuals:
Tinned lip balm
Lipstick
Tinned all-purpose herbal balm/salve
Hair tie
Couple of pens
Mini water bottle
Paperback book if I know I'll be waiting somewhere

My pocket stuff stays in my coat pockets, separately.
