How long did your new furniture last until marked.

Hello,

Totally redid our house, moved in December. We got new furniture for the first time. Spent quite a bit of money on it.

Lovely wood dining table already got a greasy mark on it and a bit of glittery something that will not come off on it. Think its imbedded.

Feeling a bit disappointed as I've been obsessing over it and still has only lastest two months...

Should of known it wouldn't survive kids especially an arty one that draws/crafts constantly.

Anyone have nice new furniture that got marked/dinged quickly

Oh dear. If you wanted to live in a show house you shouldn't have had children. Much better to live in a home, where the dinks, smears and scribbles bring back warm memories and laughs.

Yeah your right I was just all my other furniture I had was hand me downs, it's nice to have something new.

Also I have no idea what the glitter thing is, it's not even a pen or crayon with a memory to it.

Furniture is just kit. To be used, accidentally damaged, a bit of a repair job now and then. Teach people how to treat it with respect, but understand that the occasional bit of 'heritage' will happen to it..

I love our hand me down furniture. Maybe not exactly what I'd have chosen but it brings back memories of loved ones. It's all worthless in monetary terms but priceless to me despite the marks, the scratches and the burn marks!
