New job with total and utter menopausal brain fog

I was made redundant at the start of January when my company closed down, caused entirely by the decisions of a greedy man. Anyway, thankfully I have a new job which I am starting in two weeks time. The thing is, I am so forgetful, confused, clumsy, just mentally tired and a bit worried about the prospect of having to learn a load of new stuff. I could do my old job with my eyes shut, but this new one is going to involve learning to use new systems, well everything that goes with a new job really. Will my brain kick in when it needs to? Please tell me it's possible to teach an old menopausal dog new tricks! I've just started hrt patches after finding the gel and tablets didn't seem to work for me, so hoping for miracles. Anyone changed jobs mid-menopause-madness and managed ok?

Yes I have - more than once! HRT will really help but I also take / took supplements including Vit B and Lion's Mane. Rescue Remedy also helped with menopausal anxiety. What helped most of all though funnily enough was realising how young everyone else was! It's hard to feel intimidated by children 😄

Ha ha, yes, the two lads who interviewed me were quite young. One of them said he'd been there 10 years, and he was still 20 years younger than me! I'll be the granny of the office 😅 Thanks, I'll look at supplements

It can take a few weeks for the patches to kick in but when they do it really helps. Menopause did a total number on me cognitively, the patches didn't change everything but made a huge difference.

I literally write everything down in a notebook its like my work bible and i make check lists now so i don't forget to do stuff. Im the eldest in my team and they have joked and called me mum when i have on autopilot cleared plates at lunchtime or tidied up. Don't worry op everyone makes mistakes and forgets things when they start a new job. Sadly i think menopause makes us lose our confidence but as time goes on you will see you are winning. Good luck xx
