Can you use old creams unopened

I am doing a clear out of my room. I found a basket of unopened creams. I would have had intentions to use them. Likely bought on offer and then forgot about them. Likely there for about 4 years approx. I don't know what the exp dates are. I can't see them on the box. It's retinol if that makes any difference.

Will I chuck them or keep them?

I think with most unopened product it's 24 months. They usually have 24M on the pot somewhere which means ok for 24 months after opening, I've taken a photo of some cream I'm using the symbol means OK for 6 months after opening.

I'd open one have a sniff and a look and put a bit on my hand. You will soon see by the consistency whether it's usable. Different if already opened.
