Airbnb credit- anyone been successful in getting it refunded?

Airbnb have £177 of my money and I can't get it back. I cancelled a booking and it told me I had the money as 'credit', when I tried to get the money refunded, they said they cannot refund credit. I obviously paid in real money to begin with but it seems to now only exist as credit. I don't want to use the platform now as I've been so put off, so I don't want to 'use up' the credit so I'm stuck. Has anyone had a similar situation? Thank you. I've used Airbnb for years without issue but this one thing has put me off massively!

We got our deposit of £800 back but only after a huge fight. In the end we used the credit card company we had paid with and got a Chargeback.
Airbnb were totally adamant that we had not paid a deposit despite credit card evidence and a paper trail.
We will never use them again.
