Has anyone used their UK Dyson hairdryer with an adapter plug in Australia? Will it work?

Brilliant, thank you! Wasn't sure as there are conflicting results on Google. Do you just use a bog standard adapter plug for the hairdryer?

Australia has it's own adapter, in several places we have they have put in standard UK plugs and we haven't needed them...but best to take one just in case.
Where are you going to? This time of year is fabulous...gorgeous weather..(we always go in February ) Hot but somehow still green, and beautiful. I hate the flight, but LOVE Australia!

Normal adapter is fine. Australia has the same voltage as uk (or near as damn it). It's not like going to America.

Thank you. We're not going until October but was thinking about it as I couldn't use it in the States. Roll on October!

Same voltage here so you just need plug adaptor.

US uses a different (lower) voltage - 120V I think - so appliances don’t work without a voltage transformer. Here and UK both use 240V so all electrical appliances work normally, just need a plug adaptor.

Ah we went out for the first time in October... it was lovely... spring is beautiful there and the Lorakeets in the trees are noisy :) (Having said that, take a rain coat too,.. we experienced gorgeous weather and also an apocalyptic storm that took out the power in half of Adelaide!)
