Music and comedy, what do you do to cheer yourself up?

I watch some kind of sitcom most days, and listen to music for probably at least 30 mins a day (I can’t seem to listen and work or it would be more) These are things that are guaranteed to switch me out of a bad mood, and I use them for this purpose a lot. What things do you use when you are feeling down?

Exactly the same as you: something funny on tv or loud, joyful music.

I'm enjoying podcasts at the moment. On BBC sounds I like it's a fair cop and help I sexted my boss.

Its a bit sad but I also keep funny birthday cards and have a look through if I'm feeling down.

Comedy wise I like old monty python sketches. Or Allo Allo!

Yes loud, joyful music Ladyof2025 who doesn’t love a boogie in the kitchen or singing at the top of your voice in the car! Can’t beat it for switching a bad mood.

I like podcasts winewolfhowls but I wouldn’t say they cheer me up unless they are comedy ones. I like Off Menu for that.

Maybe I'm odd, but I never really feel down! What do you get down about OP?

On a Saturday at 4pm I listen to radio 1 who play Classic dance anthems, or listen to the recordings sometimes. I'm often cooking, so have a boogie around the kitchen

DaisyYellowGold · 14/02/2025 18:43

JC03745 you are lucky! I consider myself to be quite a positive person but currently it’s family health issues getting me down/stressed or it could be work/office politics. I’m happy in my life but sometimes things get thrown at you hey.

Get H to massage my feet and read daily mash to me - guaranteed laughter

DaisyYellowGold · 14/02/2025 18:44

frozendaisy that is a tactic I could get on board with!

Watching Taskmaster never fails to make me laugh and I think about it a lot afterwards and laugh some more. And watching comedians like Sarah Mullican on YouTube ( who totally smashed the Taskmaster tasks - genius!)

DaisyYellowGold · 14/02/2025 21:32

Yes Abracadabra12345 Taskmaster is a favourite in our house as well, we’ve watched them all and most series more than once!
