Please help me decide on stairway colour- pics

We are having our stairway panelled and I can't decide on whether to do the walls white or the panelling white. Please help me choose ..

So I'm going for neutral and white: just can't decide which way to do it..

Walls white as the bottom will get marked and dusty.

How much light does the stairs get?

Hardly any light, no windows at all just a half glazed door downstairs so pretty dark

White at the bottom.
