Wimbledon town centre knowledge, theatre to train station?

Please can anyone confirm how easy / close the New Wimbledon Theatre is from the train station. It looks very close, pretty much sneezing distance.

I just need the reassurance as I'm taking a child with ASD to an evening show (blood brothers GCSE) so I need to idiot proof my plans.

And Nandos looks like it's also next door?

It's a 5 minute walk and Nando's is next door! Have fun.

It's a short walk in a straight line. No idea re Nandos.

JuvenileBigfoot · 12/02/2025 20:46

Super close, in a straight line, no hills.
Have a lovely time!

It’s very close, but Nando’s will probably be packed before a show. Might be better to book somewhere on The Broadway ahead with time to get to the show. Bills? Wahaca?

No clue on travel, but just wanted to say you're in for a treat with Blood Brothers! Saw the current tour a few weeks ago and it's now my favourite musical ever!

burnoutbabe · 12/02/2025 21:03

Nando's is opposite it. 2stories but busy.

8 min walk I'd say. Come out of train station the "shopping centre" side to save sone walking.

Thank you all. That's really handy. Didn't realise there was a wahaca in Wimbledon!

Best restaurant to go to before the theatre is Al Forno a family Italian restaurant, just across the road. You can book there (unlike Nandos). Pizzas are great.

It's no more than a 5 minute walk from the train station.

Nando's will be super busy - I agree with the PP who said Al Forno over the road, lovely food and atmosphere.

Wahaca is closer to the station and is right next to the cinema and across the square from Morrisons. It's huge. I mean you are not short of places to eat!
Get to the theatre in plenty of time though there's always a queue outside.
