keeping up with endless school admin

The amount of stuff we get sent from the schools by email, text and WhatsApp - I honestly can't keep up! I never seem to ever know about a 'wear something yellow' day until the day before and then I'm always scrambling to find something.... "mum - this tshirt isn't yellow, it's orange!". hello again, mum guilt!
is this just me? is it bad to expect schools to better and more clearly communicate with parents?

I know that if I send out a message on WhatsApp to check these things, I need to think twice, three times whether the other parents are silently judging me!!🙈

I'm curious to ask the question below...

In our WhatsApp for the year group, there is 1 parent (me) who sends:
a start of term “upcoming dates” reminder
a reminder the week before something is happening (“wear something yellow and take a £1 next Tuesday”)

it’s not my job as such, but I am year rep for the PTA and am well known among the parents for my organisation, plus I know people miss reminders, especially those with multiple children within the school so I just pop the reminders in the group.

the only time we get last min info from the school is if there’s nothing for us to do and it’s just informing us of something - maybe ask that school give at least 1 week’s notice for things you/you child need to do something for?

I feel your pain OP. The issue I have with it is that some info is sent on class dojo, some via email and some via another App. Then I can’t remember where the info is when I come to look back for it. I’d love a weekly newsletter!
