Oh my gawd!!’ That’s unbelievably gorgeous. Bit fairy tale castle ish. The Bath one ooozed style and character- this one is just as good if not better.

What sadist designed the kitchen layout in the first one? Stunning house, stupid place for a sink. Obv for someone who doesn't actually cook.

House 2 may look better when it's dressed, but currently looks like a remote murder house in an Albanian horror film or similar.... And the kitchen sink is gopping.

I love a courtyard in the centre of the home, and the boot/utility room is on my wishlist, but this is too far away from matcha lattes and a large, glossy bookshop for me 🤣

I love Loch Rannoch. This is the only one I'd actually be tempted to keep if I won (apart from some of the London ones, which would be handy and easy to run as holiday lets when not there). It's close enough for me to go there regularly and I would swim in the loch.

I don't love the layout though, with two of the bedrooms pretty much in a different building from the other two. I probably wouldn't want to put two small DCs that far away from us, so they'd have to share, which is a bit of a waste if you've got a massive house.

Love this now I've seen it titivated up! I've entered three times before and not won, so surely I'm due this time?
Also surprised how far Perthshire extends... my mum's in Perthshire but it'll still take about 1hr 45m to drive to hers once I live in this house!

No kidding. That link takes me to Oak Furnitureland in Aberdeen.

Can't see Schiehallion in the views from outside so presumably it's on the south side of the loch. North Perthshire can be fiendish in winter, with a possibility of getting snowed in/cut off so you'd need to have a generator and a fully stocked larder if you intended to live there all year round.

Interesting the Norfolk property and the Scotland one are both so close to sea level that they are pretty rapidly going to be very vulnerable based on sea level rise predictions. I wonder if that is what made them unsellable.

I keep thinking, "well if you have only paid £10 will you mind? You could enjoy the house for a decade or so first" .... But it just doesn't seem like much of a prize to get a house that will soon flood frequently

I thought lochs were inlets of the sea?

Anyway the Norfolk and Bath ones both were very vulnerable.

Thinking about whether this house is 'unsellable', though, I think it's more that people who want to buy a Scottish country house for millions of pounds are very few and far between. Bits of Perthshire are very expensive by Scottish standards, but even so, you don't see that many multimillion pound properties selling. So if you've done an expensive development like this one, you might take years to find the right buyer and it's quicker and easier to sell it to Omaze.

Lochs can be inlets of the sea, in which case they are technically "sea lochs" e.g. Loch Linnhe.

But more commonly, they are the equivalent of an English Lake.

Loch Rannoch is a fair way above sea level. (204 metres, I've just Googles).
