Is it possible to 'clean up' your Facebook?

I have 150+ friends on FB, many of whom post a fair bit through to occasionally.

FTR I'm 60+, not some influencer! These are people whose lives, family, events, holidays I'm interested in.

However, I can now scroll for 10-15 minutes and see maybe one post from one of them. The rest are ads or 'funnies'. If I specifically search for a friend, lo and behold, they've posted recently. But it either hasn't appeared on my 'feed' or got buried in the dross.

IS there any way of 'resetting' FB or do I have to accept it's over, that my appointed algorithm will never again allow me this?

If you go to the "Feeds" tab you can select "Friends". You'll still get ads and you'll find some of your friends are reposting all sorts of nonsense🙄

FB has got so bad, it’s virtually unusable.

I see friends posts weeks after they post sometimes. I’ve given hiding ads and unfollowing brands because it doesn’t make any difference.

Yes, I tried blocking some ads, but again, it doesn't seem to work.

Glad it's not just me! I've missed a few 'important' events in close acquaintances' lives by them showing up days, if not weeks later.
