Hi all,

I'm looking for a lovely wallpaper for our stairs and have just received some samples from Liberty which I'm not delighted by. Maybe one or two growers.

Happy to spend up to about £250 a roll. I don't want really subtle but I like a big, open floral or organic pattern with a lot of space rather than busy or ditsy or overly maximalist with too much going on, I don't want loads of different flowers plus animals and birds.

Green, yellow or pinkish colours. What we really want is a nice texture or finish

I've searched vintage which we usually love and nothing is grabbing me, I feel I want a bigger, more spaced out design compared to older styles.

I've looked at many (de Gournay included for inspiration!) but appreciate any suggestions.

Lewis and Wood, Osborne and Little, Zoffany, Little Greene.

I think Chelsea Harbour have a website that may be worth a look too.

Maybe Timorous Beasties or Graham and Brown?

There was also a really long wallpaper thread on there a few months ago with a lot of inspo so maybe search that.

Thank you so much I've been ordering so many samples!! It's funny, I'd looked at a lot of those sites and just been a bit overwhelmed but going back found some really nice possibilities, including the lovely rhubarb one from Jane Clayton which may be a bit brighter than. Planned but I think is worth a look in a sample as it it different and, well, my family grow a lot of rhubarb. I'll definitely look for the other thread.

Not sure whether the samples will all be what I'm after but I think they've opened my eyes thanks! Definitely Chelsea harbour next but I need a cup of tea first as there's a lot on there!

One with moths on from Timorous Beasties that I need to see a sample of, it looks really interesting!

Cole and Son.

Particularly love their Fornasetti collection.

Sounds fun!

I have the dark version of the rhubarb paper in my hallway. I have always loved it- 20 years ago, long before I owned a home, I bought the fabric and made a skirt. And 8 years ago as soon as I had a hallway of my own I got the wall paper.

Some wonderful patterns!

There are so many good papers here. I wish I had more walls.

Why is it a boast? The OP has that sort of budget and clearly lots of other people do too as there are plenty of businesses selling a roll at that price and higher.
Do you think people should only be allowed to ask for advice if their maximum budget is 14.99 from B&Q?
