Daft little things that seem impossible

Mine is when you get some medication from the Doctor and read the patient information leaflet in the packet. It is impossible to fold it back up again like how it came out! I’ve never managed it once.

I use the back of a butter knife and bang around the metal on the side and top of the lid to distort it slightly. Always works for me- and I don't even work out!

Just use the bottle opener bit on the tin opener to break the jar seal, far less risky than stabbing it with a knife.

I have a grippy thing that gets the lids off. Once I bought this, I never needed my ex husband for anything ever again!

Same. Really useful now my hands are old and arthriticky

@TeenToTwenties we wind the crimbo lights round a wire coat hanger and hang it up. Works perfectly!

Using one of those electric tin openers. My mum had one, I never could figure out how it worked even as an adult and mum myself.
I felt pretty smug when the thing broke. Everyone else used it with such ease. I was bitter.

Filling in any form (paper and pen method), I literally go blank and can not ever seem to write in BLOCK capitals for the whole form, let alone a single word.

Wrapping Easter eggs back up in the foil they came in.

Wherever the hell all the hair bobbles go in our house.
Why some foods simply cannot be opened without spilling some- I mean you, flour, icing sugar and lentils!
The blood sweat and tears involved in untangling Christmas lights. And getting the tree back in the box.
How do chefs make piping icing look so easy, clean and tidy? I cannot I repeat cannot do it without making an unholy mess.
How sometimes shows you record on Sky seem to disappear into the void only to re-appear out of the blue.
Getting a duvet into a duvet cover without losing half a stone.
Getting rid of glitter. Ever.

I wear rubber gloves to open jars.

One of the reasons I don't follow through on fantasies of dumping DH and living the single life, is that I would never again be able to consume anything that comes in a jar. I work out 4x a week including gripping kettlebells and dumbells, but always have to hand jars over to be opened by a man-sized grip. It's probably saved our marriage.

Get a jar opener designed for the elderly. They are a game changer!

Has anyone suggested rubber gloves yet 🤔🧤

Perforations. They never never NEVER tear! I work for Co Op and sell quite a lot of savings stamps which come on big sheets. People buy one or two and I try really hard to tear across the perforations and yet... Similarly with opening/unpacking boxes. The perforations where you're supposed to open the box seem to be carefully reinforced with something that means the cardboard tears everywhere except where you need it to.

Plus I get paper/cardboard cuts.

I think posting jar-opening techniques on MN is becoming the new LTB
