Stratford upon Avon Bars / Clubs

Heading to S-U-A in a week or so for a night out (hen do). Any recommendations for bars / night life?

Somewhere to have a bit of a dance maybe, doesn't need to be a full on club. Live music maybe?

Stratford is far too sedate to have clubs I think? I visited there a few years ago and there were olde worlde pubs and tearooms from what I can remember

Scutterbug · 11/02/2025 21:58

Weekend? Stratford is not great for nightlife tbh. There are a lot of pubs and places to eat but nothing goes on much past 11 unless you go to Caz Bar which is a lap dancing club!
There are several chain pubs, Wetherspoons, all bar one for example. Where are you staying?

To add, I live there x

I used to live in Stratford. You went somewhere else for that sort of a good time.

SlipperyLizard · 11/02/2025 22:03

I’ve been to Stratford a few times over recent years, if there is any kind of club there it is very well hidden. It would make for a nice, civilised hen, but not a late one.

TwilightAb · 11/02/2025 22:06

There used to be a club but that is now the mad museum. Lots of good pubs though!

summerlovingvibes · 12/02/2025 09:28

That's fine re : no club / civilised. What pubs would you recommend?

Any pubs with a small dance floor? Or live music etc?

Stratford really isn’t like that - it’s a lovely town ( I work there and live close ) But it’s more restaurant and cosy pub vibes . I like loxleys and the vintner which are restaurants - lots of pubs around them . Remember there are lots of elderly theatre goers and they can make their feelings known if you’re too loud ( speaking from experience )

Go to Brum, far more options there.

TwilightAb · 12/02/2025 13:50

Cox's yard may be your best bet. Not sure if they do live music anymore, they used to.

summerlovingvibes · 12/02/2025 14:50

Thanks @TwilightAb - just called them and they sound good.

I would second Cox’s yard. You could have drinks in one of the older pubs - the old thatch tavern is very olde worlde. The dirty duck is historically where the actors would hang out. Are you eating out?

The embankment has a dance floor upstairs and is open until late at weekends

Silverstag · 13/02/2025 08:38

All Bar one also does music on a Saturday night
