Inspired By Another Thread - Do You Enjoy Your Own Company?

I have always been sociable but equally love doing stuff on my own. When I lived in London I would often go off for the whole day to museums, galleries etc & attended several shows solo. Since having DD, time alone has become even more precious. Knowing I have the whole house to myself is sheer bliss (sadly it rarely happens as DD is out of school). I mainly prefer non food shopping without anyone else & would be comfortable eating out alone. I don’t think I ever get bored as I can play the piano, read a book, watch what I want to on tv without interruptions etc etc. In contrast DSil really seems to need other people around & I believe she rarely spends time without company. Someone posted the other day ( think it was on a thread about alcohol consumption) that they were out 4 or 5 times a week. I really can’t imagine wanting to do that. Plus I can’t afford it!

I’m a sociable introvert, so while I love social life, I need a lot of time alone to compensate, and I love going away by myself. I went to Madrid for a solo week recently just to look at art, and it was bliss.

I prefer to be alone than to be with other people
