Anti-valentines day ideas

With the day of love fast approaching I am looking for ideas to make it the most non-romantic day ever. Any suggestions? So far I'm thinking of going to the cinema to watch a horror film and go to a rage room. Probably have a big mac at some point?

(Bonus points if I avoid nauseating loved up couples at all costs) TIA

I've booked myself a dentist appointment and plan on getting the mould off the shower door seal..... does that count??

That's not a snippy question, it's a genuine one, because being so anti something you could just let pass by unnoticed suggests some upset?

Agree it's a good day for chores, am sure places like DIY stores and supermarkets are less busy if lots of couples are doing other things.

I agree with @verycloakanddaggers . Surely the most anti-thing to do is go about your daily business, and give the day no thought? Anything else gives the message that it matters.

Watching a horror movie sounds like a perfect plan, or you can have a movie night at home and watch a horror related to Valentine's day. Do as you please, it's your day and doing whatever makes you feel happier is always right, even if others don't quite get it.

I'm intrigued. What's a rage room? Sounds like a horror movie place itself so good call. Tbh just do what you do any other day, that's what I imagine most people do. I watch a horror movie every night so it would definitely be normal for me 😁

I don't think I ever see any "nauseating loved up couples" on Valentine's day tbh. I just go about my normal business (which on a normal Friday is school run, dog walk, work, school run, kids tea/bath/bedtime, collapse on my own in front of TV) and usually treat myself to some nice chocolates and fizzy wine because they're always on offer!

Agree with previous posters - if you want to avoid Valentines Day then stay home. Plenty of loved up couples enjoy horror films and rage rooms literally appear on lists of unusual date ideas.

Know it’s cheesy but I think Galentines Day is a better way to reject it (celebrating friendship on 13th February) or if everyone you know is part of the loved up mass then stay home or go out another time and have a day that’s all about pampering yourself.

It's just a marketing opportunity! I don't think the streets with be thronged with loved up couples. I'd stay off social media and you'll be grand.

DH is getting me some flowers but I've told him to get them half price on the 15th. V romantic!

I am in that self pity stage of heartbreak where every where you go you seem to be surronded by happy couples/every song reminds you of them etc 😅I need a distraction so I don't wallow in the house drinking wine singing Celine Dions 'All by myself' Bridget Jones style!

@Devilsmommy The jist is it's a room where they give you an assortment of weapons such a baseball bats/crowbars and fill it with pottery, ornaments, mirrors and a host of other 'breakables' to basically smash the shit out of. (I can't decide if this sounds like a healthy release of anger though to be fair!)

Valentine’s Day has never meant anything to me, even as part of a loved up couple. Just ignore it. It’s just a made up commercial bullshit day.
