What is ‘cool’ for 13 year old boys

Son’s birthday is coming up and he’s not sure what he’d like. He likes clothes and trainers but isn’t really up on the most up to date trends. Are Nike tech fleeces still ok? I’ve lost track of trainers as they seem to change so quickly.
Or any other gift ideas. He’s already getting a new x box controller but he’s not majorly into tech.
And any smaller gift ideas I can suggest to family. He still likes nerf guns and similar but already has a massive arsenal!

My DS turns 13 soon. He likes plain grey or black hoodies by Nike, Puma or New Balance. Plain black Nike air with a white tick. He bloody loves a big tin of fancy biscuits! Sweets. Slippers. Dressing gown. PJ bottoms. Lynx.

Mine (13y DD and 15y DS) are obsessed with Stussy atm. I only managed to get the basic white t-shirt for DS about 2 days before Christmas because it had been sold out for weeks.

My ds is just 13. Him and his pals love Under Armour and Montirex clothes

Trainers - Nike Air 90s or On Cloud (certain my spelling is off!?)

I bought DS some men's pj's from Primark. He was over the moon because he fit in men's - they're xs but still!

I bought him a brick bear from tiktok shop and he's since bought another.

Thanks. I think he’d like the stussy.
never heard of a brick bear!

Carhartt is a brand along similar lines to Stussy. They’re good for hoodies and sweatshirts.
Bear vs Babies game
T shirt from Illuminated Apparel
Build on Brick mug
Air hockey table

If there's nothing he needs/wants how about a donation to charity.

How miserable.

Wireless headphones, not ear buds, tec fleece, box of american sweets, personalised medal holder for his football Medals, airforce 1 trainers and puncture repair kit and bike lights, young driver experience, new wallet with gregs voucher were all on my 13yo list

My 13 year old son is still quite young for his age in some ways. He loves anything Fortnite, LED lights, things to help him with his "YouTube career" (you can roll your eyes as much as I do at this), pj's and onesies. Someone mentioned charity - he did suggest adopting a Panda in his name (pretty sure he just wanted the cuddly panda though). Named brands wouldn't mean a thing to him - but merch from his favourite YouTubers would go down a storm!

It's a really tricky age - some are ready for a bit older stuff, others are very much still children in all senses and will enjoy toys, cuddlys, etc.

My sons always mad for funkopops Our greatest win with him recently was cards against humanity (family version).

Thiswayorthatway · 07/03/2025 14:55

My DS still likes Lego, but now more grown up sets like the F1 cars and some of the Minecraft stuff

Instead of any presents at all? Poor lad.

He sounds quite similar! He does already sponsor an orangutan (mainly for the cuddly toy!) tbh he’d be thrilled with a (another!) cuddly toy so I might get him one even though he’s got loads already
