Can we mention swath from yesterday? Surely the word is swathe? Is swath the American version?

I Googled the definitions of swath and swathe - swath is listed as the noun and swathe as the verb, but I think UK usage tends to be just swathe.

I agree - never heard of swath, despite the explanation (thank you @SabrinaThwaite). Oh well.

I also had scath as my penultimate line and I feel the same about that - it should be scathe!

We got it in 3 but only because we had the s- ath and had already tried all the obvious letters / any that would fit .
