February half term London recommendations

I’m taking my children (aged 8 and 11) to London in half-term. We’ll be staying in the YHA at Earl’s Court and I’d love recommendations of lower cost activities/places to eat. We’re already thinking of Buckingham Palace, Natural History Museum and possibly Stamford Bridge (as it’s so close) but would love to have any more ideas!

We like to eat at places like Leon, Pizza Union, Farmer Joe's and Balance when we visit London. But there are good value places all over
Viet Cafe in Chinatown is delicious and Seven Dials market in Covent Garden has loads of options. Giraffe on the South Bank is a favourite with us all. Brick Lane and the around Liverpool St station have lots of nice options too. Can't beat a Pret, Greggs or supermarket meal deal for lunch too.

Look up the recommended restaurant cheap eats on the Time Out website. It used to be a magazine but is now a web address and covers all things London. They will also have the listings for all the great things to do in London by category/age group/budget etc.

I've lived in London all my adult life and the one thing I would recommend any visitor does is a boat trip on the Thames, maybe from Westminster or slightly down river and all the way up to Greenwich. I would also get off at Greenwich and visit the park and the observatory as well tbh, you get a lot more of the feel for London from this than a visit to the museums.
