ring doorbell recomendation - burglars coming repeatedly to same house

Hi,

I wondered if I could ask for advice about burglers?

Dparents living a small village that is being targeted by burglars at the moment.

The burglars have visited several houses and each time they break the french windows, nip into the kitchen, fail to steal anything at all, and then run away. They are large, well built, well fed looking men.

In one house they cased the house one month, then broke in the next month, then came back again two weeks later, each time failing to steal anything. They did take a set of car keys but then threw them in a hedge, when they found that they were not for a valuable car. (All footage on ring doorbell)

They've now visited my parents' house and smashed their window and taken nothing.

I wondered if anybody might know what this is about? Also if you have any recommendation of how to choose and install a ring security camera or doorbell?

I don't know much about it and I looked on the website and there seem to be dozens of options.

I have a Ring doorbell, a Ring camera facing the back door, and the Ring home alarm system.

I recommend them all!

Yes there are ones without a subscription but I don't mind paying as mine are so reliable and easy to use and never let me down. I got a spare battery so it's easy to swap the doorbell and garden one with the spare.

Do your parents have money? If they do, could they temporarily hire a security firm to patrol and put up security cameras?

@Midlifecrisisxamillion not really, no. On the plus side, they also don't have anything worth stealing, so I don't think the burglars will be that excited about coming back.

We got burlged years ago and the police said they wouldn't back as we had nothing worth stealing,and they were right.

We have the ring doorbell and camera. With the camera you can set off a siren if your parents caught them in the act.

You can also speak through it.

You could set it up so you are getting alerts on your phone and you could manage remotely if it is beyond your parents.
