driving lesson tomorrow, unbearably anxious

I have my first driving lesson tomorrow. My anxiety is through the roof about it. I don’t know what to expect. I would have asked questions but my instructor hasn’t been reading and replying to my texts apart from to make the booking a week ago. I have not had any lessons before and know nothing about driving. I only just got the DVSA books and am reading a bit of one of them now.

It might help to watch this youtube video:
Good luck, it's great to be able to drive, and it's fantastic to push through in learning a skill you are uncomfortable with as then you can learn anything.

Please tell your instructor you're nervous/anxious.
Most likely you're not their first pupil to feel that way.
Remember their jobs to teach you, so any questions always ask.
If you don't understand something, again ask them to explain, or to repeat what they've said.

There's always got to be a first time when you're learning anything!
After tomorrow, you'll be looking forward to your second, then third and so on.
Good luck, you may take to it much better than you think 🙂

OP, you can do this! Your instructor will be well used to anxious and nervous first time drivers. They will not have you do anything dangerous. You will surprise yourself at your ability to learn and it will be so wonderful when you’re holding that driving licence in your hand. Tomorrow is just the first step on a great journey!

They will know you are nervous. 1st lesson they will drive you to a very quiet road explain all about the car. You may get to practice the biting point with the excelerator and clutch and pulling away. That's probably all.

Better than pressing the accelerator too hard!

I think choice of instructor is important and maybe you've not found the right one if they aren't putting you at your ease.
