Bus Icks…

Me and my sister have this thing where everytime something annoys us whilst on or waiting for the bus we will text each other our new bus icks… we’ve been doing it about 6 months now. Here’s some we’ve discovered…

when people hide in the shelter, as soon as the bus comes then run out like thier mo farah to push on the bus first.

when your waiting at an empty bus stop yet someone comes and stands directly behind you like they ain’t got plenty of space.

when your on a half empty bus, and someone sits next to you even though there are plenty of empty seats. (I find this super creepy when men sit next to women in these circumstances)

when people change seats on the bus at least 5 times during the duration of your bus journey. Fair enough the once if your sat next to someone and want to move to an empty set of chairs.

those that sit half out in aisle then get pissy when your trying to manoeuvre around them to get by, even worse when there’s one either side and they haven’t even got anyone sitting next to them.

the window wars, someone opens a window, someone then gets on and closes it, etc etc… drives me nuts. There 30 others on the bus not everything is about you.

anyone got any to add…..

When people keep ringing the bell to get off when it's obviously already been rung, there's usually 2 clear signs saying 'bus stopping' lit up, no idea why that bugs me so much, but it does 😆 Same when people press the bell for the stop where the bus is going to be terminating anyway.

When people stand up ready to get off the bus way too early and end up falling about, knocking into everyone else and tutting at the driver as if it's his fault they aren't stable.

DH's bus ick was the person who shouted "DON'T CRASH!" Every time the bus got within a few metres of anything at all.

Mine is when people get on the bus with wet coats and the windows (and all the bus surfaces) go all sweaty.
Also the people who leave greasy head prints on the windows.
People who put chewing gum on/under/behind the seats.

The smells - weed, the musty damp smell of a jacket that has never been washed. Musty smell of the seats because they obviously don't get cleaned either.

Lack of heating on the 7am bus to work and it's -4° outside.

People who press the bell for the bus to stop, but then don't get out of their seat until the bus is completely stationary. I understand this for people who are unsteady on their feet but its always the teenagers who choose to sit on the top deck, right at the back and take an eternity to disembark.

I spend 2 hours a day, 3 days a week on a bus.

People that have been waiting ages for the bus, then when it turns up,seems very surprised they have to pay and spend ages looking for their purse/card 🙄🙄🙄
