Daylight!!
That first morning when I don’t need my headlights on when I leave for work at 6am

whatisforteamum · 01/02/2025 07:04

Agreed.😁
Mile and a half walk down a pitch black country lane has not been fun in the dark/rain at stupid o clock.

Dd1's birthday
Eid
Mother's day
Tulips
This year dd's birthday is likely to fall on Eid and Mother's day is a day before. So it's an expensive time for me but I started preparing after New year.

Doing my commute in the daylight and not being blinded by headlights daily will be a highlight!
Spring bulbs.
Sitting outside with a cup of tea.
Not having to wear gloves.
Spotting new growth on plants that looked dead all winter.
Drying clothes on the line.

Wigglypasta · 01/02/2025 08:07

PlaygroupWoe · 01/02/2025 07:52

Less mud!!

I was going to say exactly that- less muddy dog walks!
And sitting in the garden.

Some warmth! I’m so tired of being cold.

Blossom.

Waking up to sunlight and the sounds of birds chirping.

Generally feeling a bit happier. Is SAD a real thing or a social media thing? Either way, I’m definitely emotionally affected by winter!

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 01/02/2025 08:12

Daylight!
The lifting of my seasonal depression.
Not having to wipe the dog down every time he goes outside.
Shorts and t shirts (hopefully!)
Being able to leave the house without a coat, hat, gloves etc.
Being able to leave the doors and windows open for fresh air.
DS’s mocks being over.

OMG I just can’t wait!

It’s very real, I am diagnosed with it (on top of regular depression, lucky me!).

Edited

I have regular-degular depression too, and it’s definitely a lot worse during winter! I really can’t wait for spring to arrive.

menopausalmare · 01/02/2025 08:18

My garden.
Warmth.
Daylight.
Drying washing outside
Smell of cut grass
Seeing my cats enjoy the garden.
Monty on the tele.

Tumbleweed101 · 01/02/2025 08:20

Enough daylight to be able to get out into my garden after work. It’s finally just about daylight when I leave on my early finish day (4.30).

I’m looking forward to my spring bulbs flowering, they are all emerging from the soil now. My snowdrops just started flowering in the past couple days.

I’m looking forward to the blossoms and the birds singing as they start nesting and a bit later into spring those first bright green leaves emerging.

RockStarMartini · 01/02/2025 08:23

@menopausalmare Friday nights hearing Monty say ‘hello’ in his gentle way - that’s when you know Spring is here. Are you watching his English gardens series? He’s visiting some lovely places 🌷
