Natural verruca treatments that actually work?

PyongyangKipperbang · 31/01/2025 22:00

DD has sensitive skin, we have to be really careful with what products she can use so obviously dont want to try proprietary treatments as they are really strong. She has developed GP diagnosed allergies to some things that you would think are innocuous so I am not prepared to risk it.

When one of her sisters had one I tried the banana skin treatment....didnt work. Gaffer tape....didnt work. Ended up using the OTC treatment but she doesnt have the same sensitivity.

So, any ideas?!

Vigorous filing/scraping before any treatment, if they can tolerate it. Means the treatment is actually getting to the verruca.

The treatments work by triggering an immune response to the virus.

Cut a garlic clove in half and rub it over the affected area before bedtime and cover with a plaster. Do this every night for a few weeks and they'll go. Only thing that worked for me. Works on warts as well.

Agree with pp to file the area beforehand. Good luck.

My DD is currently being treated for them. Was using a gel but weren't shifting and actually getting worse.
Went to a private podiatrist as they were getting painful and she recommended building her immune system first (she's been quite poorly) as nothing will work well unless her immune system is strong. And using a small circle of duct tape held in place with a plaster. Know you didn't think much of it for your other kid though.

She did file them down far more aggressively than I did to be fair.

I once had a doctor (an actual GP) tell me that the only cure for warts was to rub it with a toad found in a graveyard!

They won't go until the body mounts an immune response. When people say that x treatment has worked, it's just that the immune system has finally kicked in. They will suddenly vanish one day.

Thuja- applied directly with a cotton bud and also taken orally. You can get it at health food shops. I was sceptical but desperate and couldn't believe how well it worked.

Duct tape worked on a stubborn verruca that nothing else would touch. I'd literally had it years, tried every OTC remedy and even went to a podiatrist who did the treatment where they burn it and that didn't work. I just kept it covered at all times with duct tape for a month or so and it disappeared and never returned!

Apple cider vinegar worked for DD. Soaked a bit of tissue in it and stuck it on with a plaster. Couldn’t believe it worked!

Could you tell me how often did you do this and how long did it take?

I know it's supposed to be the case that they eventually go but mine didn't. In fact they multiplied and I ended up having to go to a podiatrist for 'Swift' treatment which zaps the veruccas with microwaves and somehow encourages an immune response in the body. Very expensive, painful while zapping (but no pain afterwards) but it successfully eliminated about 20 veruccas in 3 sessions.

Think it was about a week. I honestly couldn’t believe it worked. Put it on every night at bedtime.

The back of the toad or the stomach?

Oblomov25 · 01/02/2025 07:37

Ds1 had swift and it still hasn't worked.

Kattuccino · 01/02/2025 09:42

I bought some H-Warts solution and it worked brilliantly on both DCs' verrucas. It's a bit messy to apply - definitely get a pipette!

IAmNeverThePerson · 01/02/2025 09:45

freeze spray and then cut off the dead bits and repeat.

PyongyangKipperbang · 02/02/2025 00:55

Thanks for the info.

Obviously not going to use any non natural stuff but will have a go with the cider vinegar one and see what happens.

Second H-Warts by Healing Natural Oils. Applied twice a day for a few weeks, it turned black and fell off! No filing, pain etc.

Apple cider vinegar
