Relative with spinal injury - what should I bring?

Visiting relative in hospital who has been bedbound with spinal injury for three months - what should I bring them? Was thinking nice biscuits, magazines, anything else you would want having been in hospital that long?

My friend's been in hospital for 3 weeks with the same thing OP.

She'll be in for at least another 2 so I paid for her hospital internet connection for a couple of weeks, and got her an adult colouring book.

She laughed at the colouring book but the next time I saw her, she'd done 5 pictures! 🤣

Of course it all depends on how much they can sit up.

What level of injury?

As I understand it (and it’s a long story) he is currently paralysed from the waist down.

What about a nice drink bottle or insulated mug? One with a straw type top for if they are laid flat. A gift card for audio or Ebooks if they have a tablet.

Edited

So he’ll have use of arms and hands, I think the drinks cup and ebook voucher are great ideas.
i know that trying to sleep in hospital at night can be difficult with noise so maybe some silicone type earplugs might be helpful. (not very glamorous)
or pay for a mindfulness app ?

A little squirty bottle of cordial (not usually available in hospital)
Fresh prepared fruit if they like it (as above!) grapes, melon, berries
