What are the IT make up brands among teens?

Doing some research for forthcoming gift giving, two birthdays close together, don't like just giving vouchers, and know the recipients well enough to get shades right. Both makeup mad. Mum and Dad fine with the idea.

Charlotte Tilbury
Milk
Benefit
Rare Beauty

etc

However, Sephora, Selfridges etc vouchers would allow the recipient to choose the brand themselves and probably be better received.

Sorry misread. If you are planning to choose, I’d go for an engraved Dior lip oil.

Elf
NYX
Rhode

We don't have a Sephora or Selfridges near us, I don't like giving vouchers anyway, I like putting the thought in!

Thanks for the recs, I wouldn't have thought CT was a young brand!

Mine would prefer one item that's the really good version of something.
How much are you wanting to spend?

Last thing that went down well here was Benefit lip/cheek tint.

At the risk of being accused of being ridiculous, it’ll also depend on the financial situation of the teens. My daughter wouldn’t use Elf or NYX, she’s got higher end products and her friends are the same.

CT she absolutely loves.

Depending on their ages, La Neige and Summer Fridays are really good options too. I won’t let her have ‘actual makeup’ beyond primer, blusher, mascara, highlighter but mine is a tween. So she instead has a huge collection of lip glosses and oils…

Nina1013 · 29/01/2025 21:07

Also Rhode phone case with the lipgloss that’s attached to the case is hugely popular.

Nina1013 · 29/01/2025 21:08

PLouise too…

Possibilities are almost endless…

WildUnknown · 29/01/2025 21:11

I thought PLouise was more tween than teen

How much to spend?

If high end, 2 items each!

Are you able to take them shopping and give them a budget? My DDs would pick very different brands and similar to another poster one would prefer a single splurge item, the other a couple of slightly cheaper items.

I think they’re all different.

I see very little difference between what the year 7 girls want and the year 11/12/13 girls want in my daughter’s school. What they’re allowed definitely varies, but the brands and products they covet seem to be very much the same.

CT Pillow Talk set was really popular at Christmas, and the engraved Dior lip oils everyone seemed to have on their lists.

tigerbear · 29/01/2025 21:16

Laneige Lip Masks
Glossier
Refy
Saie

Nina1013 · 29/01/2025 21:17

One thing I have learned from threads on here is that what is ‘in’ varies from area to area. I’d ask them (or their parents) what brands they would love to have, and work within that.

Ohyay · 29/01/2025 21:20

Vieve
Made by Mitchell
Doll Beauty
Iconic London

Blingismything · 29/01/2025 21:49
