Long story short:
I started a uni course in September 2018. Dropped out mid January 2019. I started work with a bank so I changed my accounts to be with the bank I work for.
My uni had to be chased by me in 2024 to update SFE that I’d left and didn’t owe the whole year tuition. This was recalculated but SFE are insisting they paid me a loan in April 2019 - which I never got ? And I had changed banks?
they’ve now said I can complain to dispute and have put the overpayment on hold
But any advice here? They aren’t providing evidence just saying they did as I was down for the whole year at uni, but I wasn’t there and the uni knew I’d withdrawn?
I spoke to a friend who is a solicitor who said don’t pay without concrete evidence as I could end up just needed to claim it as a refund down the line as theyre owing so much to people with miscalculation
But anyone had this before? It’s really weighing me down
