Hi Guys! My partner has twins who are now 11, without sounding horrible 🤦‍♀️ they are pretty far behind on their speech (example…we aten an apple today) handwriting could also do with abit of work! Maths and spelling they are pretty damn good at! However my partner has asked if I can help them with the speech and handwriting as they have their end of primary exams coming uo! There seems to be loads online for handwriting that is targeted at their age…. but for speech…..to help with what they need, there just doesn’t seem to be much….it all seems to be targeted at very young children and i’m conscious I don’t want to make them feel like babies not being able to talk property! Anyone got any ideas on anything I can make/do or buy??!! Send help 🤦‍♀️

Is there a reason he's not been able to support them with their speech in their 11 years? Is it a new issue?

Games are the way forward though, especially where it involves speech and listening.

Some ideas:
-Mad libs at the dinner table
-Walkie talkie games
-Story cubes
-Writing and singing songs on the karaoke- music is super helpful for speech

Good luck!

To put it frank…mum doesn’t have any interest in helping and we only have them every other weekend so it’s always going to be a losing battle with time! But I’m happy to do my best and help as much as I can! It’s not a new thing…it’s just never been corrected and now it’s mixed with “trying to sound cool on top” 🤦‍♀️ thanks for the advise
