Eggs - in the fridge.
Fruit - in the freezer. I rarely buy fresh fruit. Butter - in a French butter crock on the counter. It goes into the fridge in the summer.
Keys - car and door keys are together on the same keyring in the pocket of my coat.
Hoover - in a built-in closet.

MoonWoman69 · 28/01/2025 06:41

@Psychoticbreak The side is the kitchen worktop/counter

sashh · 28/01/2025 06:59

Eggs - on the counter in their box.
Butter - in a butter dish with spare in the fridge.
Fruit - depends, some in the fruit bowl on the beer fridge, if it has been cut then in the food fridge
Vac - in the hall cupboard
Drinks - in the beer fridge in the living room, which mostly contains cans of drink and gin, this is kept at a much colder temp thatn the food fridge.

That is what we call it in Ireland!

Eggs - I don’t buy them (cannot stand any kind of fried/boiled/scrambled etc so don’t think I have ever bought them?!), but I guess if I did in the fridge?!
Fruit - in fruit/veg box of the fridge
Butter - in the fridge, I find on the side it either isn’t spreadable or too soft and melted!
House/car keys - top drawer of the shoe cabinet in hallway by front door
Hoover - in the hallway cupboard

NotNeil · 28/01/2025 12:01

Soooooo many people with their eggs in the fridge.

If they need to be kept in a fridge then why don't shops/supermarkets do it?

Stickthakettleon · 28/01/2025 12:31

it's probably a habit to put eggs in the refrigerator . It's only been since 1997 that hens have been vaccinated against salmonella, so most will have grown up with keeping eggs in the fridge.
Eggs aren't washed either in the UK, which leaves the protective coating on the egg, which helps also to keep salmonella out of the inside of the egg. The hens have been vaccinated, so the faeces of the hen doesn't contain salmonella which would contaminate the shell and therefore, the egg itself.

Eggs - some on the side, the rest in the fridge (get a tray of 30 at a time)
Fruit - in the bowl in the living room
Butter - on the side
Keys - on my desk (day), beside the bed (night)
Hoover - currently in the hallway
